T-shirts don’t have to be boring so try these on for size…
Every summer wardrobe needs a t-shirt or three and this season there are some lovely tees available. Look for small details such as little buttons, frills or contrasting materials, or go for bold in colourful stripes, block colours or prints.
For pretty detailing, take a look at our March Hare t-shirt by White Stuff which comes in a flattering denim colour and includes a small pocket, buttons and a frill detail, and at just £22.50, it’s a great price. Fransa (above) has a delicious white self-striped t-shirt with a delicate frill around the collar and at the bottom, giving a loose, billowy feel – it’s a bit more than a tee but at just £33 it’s something you’ll wear all the time. The Portia t-shirt by Ness has cotton, sheer shoulder panels, with four buttons down the front, and is available in apple and cream. At £25 it should be an essential part of your summer collection. For a more blouse-like effect, take a look at Saint Tropez (below). This t-shirt looks great tucked into trousers or shorts and features contrasting sleeves that can be rolled up or down. It’s available in sky blue, caramel and cream for just £29.99.
If you’re after stripes, there’s plenty to choose from. Fransa’s bold striped round necks (from £19.99, below) are the perfect layering ingredient, being longer in length and available in a variety of colours from pinks to yellows to blues. They are also available as vest tops too. For a more nautical feel, Noa Noa has a charming navy and white striped tee with a scooped v-neck and button detailing for £29.
For basics, you can’t beat Fransa’s plain tees. Available in white and violet, they are really good quality for just £12. Alternatively, take a look at Seasalt’s Pemberly tee, below - a long sleeve v-neck in a flattering clover colour. It’s made from soft organic cotton and costs £25.
